BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Day three of the first degree murder trial of Baton Rouge rapper Torence Hatch, a.k.a. Lil Boosie trial began with 19-year-old Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding taking the stand.
Prosecutors say Louding confessed to killing Terry Boyd in 2009, and they also say that Hatch gave the order to do so. Louding has not yet gone to trial for his involvement in Boyd's death.
On the stand Monday morning, Louding said he never told law enforcement that he shot Terry Boyd, but instead he was at Hatch's house the night of the murder. He says Hatch and Adrienne Pittman, the accused getaway driver never left the house.
On the interrogation tapes played in the courtroom, Louding at first said he wasn't involved in the murder. A couple of days later, he said after the shooting he went back to Boosie's house and once the phone calls came in saying Boyd was dead, Louding received $2,800.
Louding will be called back to the stand Monday afternoon because he told the court under oath that nothing happened on the night in question. Prosecutors said in opening statements they expected that.
Defense is asking why Louding was picked up and questioned for eight hours before detectives pushed the record button, and the first thing they say is "let's get this straight."
Louding was picked up for terrorizing a young lady and he admitted to six homicides. Louding was told he was only being charged with the terrorizing/assault charge.
Detectives testified they lied to Louding, saying there were witnesses and physical evidence linking him to the scene, and told Louding no one would believe he was innocent.
On Sunday, day two of testimony, eight witnesses were called by the state, including forensic specialists and four BRPD officers and detectives who investigated the crime scene of the October 2009 shooting death of Boyd.
According to their report, Boyd's mother said a man named Michael Charles, also known as Big Mike or Big Fancy, could be connected to her son's murder in some way.
The defense claims that is another hole in the prosecution's case.
The detectives all testified that they never looked into this information, and a case agent in the District Attorney's office testified that he discovered Carter died in early 2011 of natural causes.
In opening statements on Saturday morning, Prosecutor Dana Cummings said Louding has a tattoo on his stomach of an AK-47 with the statement, "Yo Boosie Who's Next?" The prosecutor said Louding had the tattoo done on November 4, 2009, two weeks after Boyd was killed. Adriene Pittman, who's been called the getaway driver, has a tattoo of the bible on his back and includes the words "Who's Next?" And, Hatch has a tattoo of an AK-47 with "Boss Man" written above it.
Hatch's defense attorneys during opening statements told jurors they will learn a lot of people had ill will toward the victim, Terry Boyd, but not their client. They said in fact, Hatch has a child with Boyd's sister. The defense added the jury will learn Hatch is stupid for allowing too many people to be around him because he didn't want people thinking celebrity changed him.
The defense attorneys also said Louding was one of the people who came over, but Hatch didn't know him. They said the testimony will show Louding had his own reasons for killing and that the suspected killer says he heard voices telling him to hurt people.
Hatch is facing life in prison for first-degree murder. The trial is expected to last at least a week.

    BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A man has been arrested after deputies say he*threatened the life of the EBR Parish District Attorney*on his*Twitter account*toward East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore.

The tweets were posted on Saturday, May 5, 2012 around 3:45 p.m. The first tweet said "I got a sniper rifle for Hillar Moore when he walk out the court house." The second tweet stated "Man them*(explicative) better #freeBoosie before I shoot that*(explicative) court house up." Both messages were posted by the same person. (Explicative were used in the original tweets, WAFB chose not to repeat those words.)

Investigators say the message that references the "Shooting The Court House Up" relayed information that a crime of violence is imminent or a circumstance dangerous to human life exists or is about to exist, with the intent of causing members of the general public to be in sustained fear for their safety.

Derrick Deandre Green, 22, is accused of public intimidation and terrorizing. An investigation revealed that the person tweeting was Green. Investigators also used photos posted on Twitter to compare to a driver's license picture.

Green was taken into custody and brought to an interview room where he was read his rights. Deputies say Green admitted sending the tweets but said he was just "fooling around."
Detectives explained to Green that the nature of the tweets are construed to be a threat towards the EBR D.A. Hillar Moore in an effort to influence his handling of and the outcome of the ongoing court proceedings.
Green was taken to the EBR Parish Prison and booked into jail.

The man Torence “Lil Boosie” Hatch allegedly hired to kill Terry Boyd testified Monday morning that he did not commit that killing.

Prosecutor Dana Cummings, in her opening statement in Boosie’s murder trial, told jurors that Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding would lie when he testified.

Louding told police in May 2010 that he killed Boyd at Hatch’s request, prosecutors have said.

Hatch, 29, is accused of paying Louding $2,800 to kill Boyd, prosecutors said Louding told authorities.

Hatch is on trial for first-degree murder. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty in Hatch’s case.

Louding, now 19, was 17 at the time of the Boyd’s death also is charged with first-degree murder in the killing. Louding has not been tried yet in the Boyd killing.

A sometimes cocky Louding — the prosecution’s star witness — said he lied because Baton Rouge police threatened to lock up his mother and stepfather and told him he would die by lethal injection, that Hatch had put out a $25,000 contract on his life and that District Attorney Hillar Moore III “wanted’’ Hatch.
“Did you believe Torence Hatch was trying to kill you?’’ prosecutor Dana Cummings asked Louding, who said he was close to Hatch “like a brother.’’
“No ma’am,’’ replied Louding, who later said he is a “lover,’’ not a killer.
Louding acknowledged he did not tell the anonymous jury Monday what he told the grand jury on June 3, 2010.
    “Why didn’t you?’’ Cummings asked.
“I have no idea,’’ he said. “I’m telling the truth today.’’

    AllHipHop News)
Yesterday (May 7) marked the third day of testimony in the first degree murder-for-hire trial of rapper Torrence “Lil Boosie” Hatch. The prosecution called their first witness of the day, Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding.
Louding is accused of being hired by Lil Boosie to murder Terry Boyd in October of 2009.
    The Prosecution
The prosecution said in a taped confession that Louding admitted that Torence Lil Boosie paid him to kill Terry Boyd.
While on the stand, Louding testified he never told police he shot Terry Boyd.
Louding said he was at Torence Lil Boosie’s house on the night of the murder and the two never left.
Prosecution lawyer Dana Cummings originally said that she expected Michael Louding to lie.
After Louding’s initial statement on the stand, Cummings ordered that the interrogation tapes be played to refresh Louding’s memory.
On the interrogation tapes, Louding gave an account of what happened the evening Terry Boyd was killed.
He told investigators that he and Adrienne Pitman, along with Michael Judson, went to the residence of Boyd in a white SUV.
He said that he shot Boyd through a window, while he sat on the couch.
Louding said once he got back to Boosie’s house and the phone calls came in that Boyd was dead, Boosie gave him $2,800.
After the tapes were played Michael Louding was called back to the witness stand.
He again denied having any involvement in the murder of Terry Boyd or being hired by Lil Boosie.
“I never killed Terry Boyd and Mr. Hatch never paid me to kill Terry Boyd,” Louding said.
When further examined by the prosecution, Louding became uncooperative.
He blurted out “where the other eight hours of the tape?”
Cummings agreed that not all of the interrogation was recorded to which Louding replied: “sound like somebody trying to hide something.”
Cummings then played a recorded phone conversation between Louding and a man known by the nickname, “Donkey.”
During the conversation, Donkey tells Louding: “you’re gonna shake the spot ‘cause you young.”
Donkey also tells him: “The whole thing set up to take Hatch down. Ain’t nobody see you do nothing. All those tattoos and stuff…that’s what we do for the videos.”
At that point, Cummings ordered Michael Louding to be released from shackles and for him to reveal a tattoo of an AK-47 on his abdomen that read: “Yo’ Boosie Who’s Next.”
Louding said that the tattoo doesn’t mean anything and the fact that he originally stated that it meant he was a hitman for Boosie was because, “The crooked police made me say that.”
“They told me that Torrence [was] trying to kill me and the best way to deal with him is get him off the streets. They said he had a $25,000 contract on me.”
Louding explained that this was especially believable, because he had just gotten shot at a couple of nights before.
Louding also said that he felt close to Lil Boosie and Boosie was like a brother to him and he occasionally called Hatch “Pops.”
After becoming frustrated with her witness Dana Cummings asked Michael Louding one last time, “How did Terry Boyd die?”
Louding responded: “you live by it you die by it.”
Cummings then asked, “Mr. Louding, are you telling the court that you were lying when you said Torence Hatch paid you to kill Terry Boyd?”
    Louding said, “Yes ma’am.”
At that point the prosecution had no further questions.
    The Defense
During the defenses’s cross examination of Michael Louding, defense attorney Jason Williams played the interrogation tape again, but this time let it extend past the time it was originally cut off for the prosecution.
“He reads him his rights and says alright you’ve come a long way dog …Now get it straight with me. Now what does he need to get straight if he’s telling his own story. If he’s telling his own story he doesn’t have to get it straight; just tell us what happened,” William argued.
The tape showed law enforcement saying they were not going to charge Louding with murder, but with aggravated assault and terrorism even though he confessed to murder.
Then the tape reveal Louding saying, “This dude wanna kill me? He bout to get out of jail now?”
Attorney Williams argued that law enforcement lied to Louding in order to get him to cooperate with getting his client Lil Boosie charged with murder.
The detective admitted to lying to Louding about having evidence that linked him to the case.
He said that it is not unusual to lie to a suspect and that lying is a technique taught to interrogators.
The defense also had Louding confirm that Adrienne Pitman had an outstanding beef with Terry Boyd and that Michael “Ghost” Judson, now deceased, had been robbed for $720 by Terry Boyd.
Michael Louding also admitted to receiving treatment for the voices he hears in his head.
The prosecution challenged the notion that Louding hears voices, saying that he seemed very competent and never told investigators about his mental challenges.
In regards to Pitman’s and Judson’s disputes with Boyd, Cummings then asked Louding “Are you saying you had nothing to do with the six murders?”
    Louding replied, “I’m not a murderer, I’m a lover.”
Michael Louding was then excused off the witness stand for the day.
    Testimony continues today.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A detective who questioned Michael Louding, also known as "Marlo Mike," took the stand Tuesday morning in the trial of Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch.

Detective Charles Johnson with the Baton Rouge Police Department testified there was no real reason he did not turn on the recording device for eight hours while questioning Louding.

Louding is the linchpin of the entire case.

He was on the stand Monday and said Hatch wasn't responsible for the murder of Terry Boyd.
Johnson told the jury Louding's taped confession of the murder and implicating Hatch as the person who paid for it is the real truth in the case.

It will be up to the jury to decide who is telling the truth, but there was one part of Johnson's testimony that worked in the prosecution's favor.

He said Louding knew details about Boyd's murder that had not been released.
He also said Hatch was not a suspect until the day Louding was questioned.

The media is ridiculous with how they are reporting this thus not unexpected nonetheless. To act like Louding knowing details about the murder that were not released is some major plus for the prosecution is limited thinking. Obviously he knew of Judson based off of his initial confession which coincide with Boyd's family saying allegedly Judson was involved, what evidence would prove Judson was not alone outside of that original confession from Marlo? Therefore it is possible that Judson could have told Marlo what happened and then Marlo implicated himself out of fear. The way they obtained that initial confession has to make the jury consider that confession being somewhat worthless. Free Lil Boo my nigga

And what was the point of the Donkey conversation even being played? That implicated absolutely nobody.

This fucking fool! Between this and them mixtapes, I don't know whats worse

A short time later, Cummings asked Louding about a tattoo on his chest that depicts an AK-47 assault rifle and says, “Yo Boosie, who’s next?’’
“What does my tattoo have to do with what we’re talking about?’’ Louding asked.
At Cummings’ request and with Erwin’s permission, sheriff’s deputies unshackled Louding’s wrists so he could stand in front of the jury and display the tattoo. The prosecutor also showed jurors a photo of the tattoo.
“What does that tattoo mean?’’ she asked.
    “I don’t know. It’s just a tattoo,’’ Louding answered.
